NYC Autumn Jewelry Show
Konstantinos I. Leoussis, Founder of KIL Promotions, envisioned an exceptional jewelry event that brings together dealers, collectors, and object enthusiasts from diverse backgrounds. They recognized the need for a gathering that showcases a wide range of offerings, while fostering an uplifting and supportive environment. Their goal is to create an immersive and engaging experience for attendees, ensuring that both vendors and buyers succeed.

01
Initial Consultation

The initial meeting focused on understanding the essence of the event—its identity, atmosphere, and the emotions it aimed to evoke. We explored themes ranging from luxury to femininity and modernity, ensuring the visual direction aligned with the event’s high-end appeal. I was brought on as a last-minute replacement after the team was unsatisfied with their previous designer, requiring me to work both quickly and at a high standard. Once we finalized the vision, I had my flight booked to New York, ready to bring the concept to life.
02
Concept Development & Design Execution

Upon arrival in New York, I went straight to work. Due to tight time constraints, I had to streamline my design process—cutting out much of the sketching phase and jumping directly into digital drafts. Despite this, I ensured that every design element maintained a high level of quality and cohesion.
My primary tasks included:
-
Designing the poster for the next event
-
Creating custom headers for 52 vendors
-
Developing a variety of signage across the event space
Balancing speed with precision, I adapted quickly to meet the demands of the project while maintaining a polished and consistent visual identity throughout the event.
03
Print Proofing & Quality Control

Once each design was approved, I implemented a quality control process before full-scale printing. To ensure there were no print defects or dimensional issues, I first sent a single test print for review. This allowed me to check for potential problems, such as washed-out colors or misalignment. After confirming that the test print met the required standards, I proceeded with printing the full set of materials, ensuring everything looked polished and professional for the event.
04
Setup & Final Touches
On setup day, I worked hands-on to install many of my designs throughout the venue, ensuring they were displayed correctly and aligned with the event’s visual identity. Despite the tight deadline, I was also able to create a few additional last-minute designs, further enhancing the event’s branding and signage. This final stage brought everything together, transforming the space into a cohesive and visually engaging experience.
05
Event Day & On-the-Fly Design

Even as the event unfolded, my role remained essential. I took charge of the badge printer, having quickly learned to operate it, ensuring that last-minute adjustments could be made smoothly. If a vendor lost their badge, arrived late, or hadn’t registered as a helper, I designed and printed new badges on the spot. This flexibility helped keep the event running seamlessly while maintaining a polished and professional look across all materials.
06
Event Photography
In addition to my design responsibilities, I also served as the event photographer, capturing key moments throughout the show. My focus was on documenting the energy of the event, the intricate details of the jewelry and objects on display, and the interactions between vendors and attendees. These images not only served as a record of the event but were also used for promotional materials, social media, and future marketing efforts. Balancing both design and photography allowed me to ensure a cohesive visual narrative across all aspects of the event.
Challenges and Solutions
Time Constraints and Quick Turnaround: Being brought on as a last-minute replacement meant I had limited time to complete the design work. I didn’t have the luxury of following a full design process, such as sketching, drafting, and revising.
Solution: To overcome this, I streamlined my approach and went straight into digital drafts. By prioritizing efficiency and quality, I was able to meet deadlines while ensuring the final designs aligned with the event’s vision.
Managing On-the-Fly Design Requests: During the event, unexpected issues arose, such as vendors losing their badges or arriving late, requiring immediate design adjustments.
Solution: I quickly familiarized myself with the badge printer and took control of the situation, designing and printing new badges on the spot. This flexibility ensured the event ran smoothly and all vendors were properly represented, even with last-minute requests.
